An English sort of a day...

We have had beautiful spring weather the past few days...the kind that gets you out in your garden, cleaning up all the dried up leaves, uncovering new spring buds....and zap! We have a 30-40 degree day...with rain...icy rain for awhile...just bone chilling cold... it just reminds me of antiquing in England this time of year...and then seeing their amazing yards! Oh to live where I could grow roses this big and have wisteria that blooms! I can just see it!

Sweet snipettes of new things to come!

I have been working on lots of new summer creations...this is my hot dahlia hat. A bit of a new take on my peony flower hat. There are some really sassy new color combinations for spring and summer. And if I can get my new designs back from my screenprinter, there will be lots of fun new stock to choose from....Here's a sneek peek...

This is one of the new boy designs. There are lots of fun, new colors here too! All little boys love animals so this should be a no-brainer! Stay tuned for more good things to come!

A little Easter beauty...

Aspen and I were peeking through mom's studio on Easter and enjoying all her vintage flower goodies in this basket! Then my mom and Aspen put on her Christening bonnet. She wore this little thing over a year ago and it still fits! This chick has a tiny, little head!

Once you have Aspen in my mom's studio, it is really hard to get her out of there! She loves all the sweet sparkly goodies tucked away in there!

The most darling little box...

I think I have mentioned before how addicted to silk ribbon work my mom and I are. We love to buy old ribbons and make creations constantly. She still gets the time to do this, but I don't get so much time to do it anymore, unless I have something specific I am doing it for. So yesterday my mom whips up the fabulous box! I want to have it! What a little treasure this thing is. Something anyone who loves old lace and ribbons would just love to have as a part of her collection. She decided she wants to sell it on ebay...hmm...how tragic for me! But lucky for all of you! The box doesn't open, so you can't store your treasures in here...alas...but it is so pretty to look at that you won't want to!

There are several more pictures with the ebay listing, but for some reason my computer is not wanting to display them all here!

So there's my little Easter treasure for you for the day! Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do!

Easter wishes and buggy kisses...

Finally a small break at work for me to post a couple of the cuties I bought at the Spring Fling show...these are some paper mache pieces from Cindy Habermann...a dear friend to me! I met her about 4 years ago at a show, and I just had to have all her stuff! I sell her things at my boutique. They are so neat, she really does some fab halloween things! She uses a lot of old trims in her designs as well. So here are a couple of the pieces I purchased for my shop!

I love this spring stuff...so fun for the spring and summer months, so creative and different!

This little ladybug is darling....the bunny behind it is from last year's collection...

These little things can just make a display really pop!

powder room please...

We have been potty training around here lately...it seems to work well if you have huge pictures of your dogs up in the bathroom for Aspen to look at while she is sitting pretty on the little potty! Aspen is only 14 months now, so I still keep a diaper on when shopping or out on the town...she's so little I feel like she would never want to go on a real toilette!

But she gets her sunglasses on and her book and she is one happy gal! In her robe no less! Maybe I needed to censor her a little like this chickie in this antique postcard....

Last night I was searching some vintage goodness for one of the swaps I am partipating in and I came across all these old valentines and little cards I used to collect. I think I was about 10 when I really started collecting these little things....I have a few really fun ideas in mind for my swap....I am going to a spring fling market this weekend, so maybe I will get a few little goodies there too! Gotta do something to get my mind off my bookwork from the shop!

Art and Ghosts for inspiration!

I just picked up the new Somerset Studio the other day...and what a treat it was! There is a feature artist portfolio on Lou at Art and Ghosts. I immediately stopped by her site and bought a few pieces! Her work is so ethereal and whimsical....She reminds me a little of Mark Ryden working in a different media. He is one of my all time favorite artists! I love all the detail everything has. I really like when there is a picture within a picture...if you have any of my baby pieces you can tell that! My shop logo has my three dogs hidden in it...and my pipsqueak couture crest has my baby's face in it! Wonder if they all know they are famous? Ha, ha!

This is one of the prints I purchased, below. I love her face and I love those red deer...so does Aspen! I also really like the bird cages she uses...I am working on some baby things with birds and cages. Aspen is obsessed with birds, so I thought if would be fun to use them in my designs! Usually I always have my bee and crowns in everything...now I need to add a bird to the mix!

I love this image too...but it's not one I bought!

Here is my Pipsqueak Couture logo as it is on my cards. See little Aspen baby there! She is even wearing her bow! I also need to give a shoutout to Trendytots for featuring my Le Bee Bee Onesie today! What a great day to be at work! Thank you!

mom's lastest masterpiece...

This is my mom's latest work of art of my little Aspen. This is the most impressionistic painting I have ever seen her do. Down below is the photo I took that inspired it! Funny how these little babies just open up a whole new world of creative ideas for all of us! She reminds me of the baby in Lemony Snickets in this photo especially with her puff sleeves! Gotta love the creative license my mom took with Aspen's hair! ha, ha!

bogged down by burpies!

I have been having a run on burp cloths at my boutique lately! So every spare moment I get I am working on some new burp cloths...I can't seem to keep the little boys' burpies in stock...so I put together some little sets with rubber duckies to match, just in time for spring! These should be in my etsy shop very soon! Also check out the new Le BeeBee onesie in white and gold! I think it is really important to find ways to make creations for either gender...but still look edgy and hip....I would love this for my boy or girl!

Here's the aqua burpie set, above....and the green set below...very good for that person who isn't finding out what she's having...

Close ups of the burpies packed in these little packages! Don't you love the bee ribbon? Just reminds me spring is coming! I can't wait! Last evening I spotted my peonies coming up!!! They are up about 2 inches...so then after Aspen went to bed I worked in the gardens...it makes me crazy to see all the dead from last summer still there with the fresh buds coming up. We have had such a cold winter that I haven't been able to get out there with all the snow....so I had to take advantage of my spring-like evening!
