my couture worker bee!

Can you even stand this? I was trying to sew a bit while Aspen was playing and so she decided to get into all my ribbons and she just accessorized herself here...and of course little miss had to add the perfect hat into the mix!

Like mother, like daughter what can I say?

when the dahlias are blooming....

I start to think of fall, just as all the dahlias are popping open in my yard....I think it is because I am such a retail girl, you know....I mean Halloween does come into stock in August! It is still hot as all get out, but you know I am steaming winter coats in my boutique and starting my holiday baby collections...so there you go...

Ruffle it up baby!

I just finished making Aspen these ruffled shorts late last night...they are so stinking cute I can't stand it...but they take forever finishing all those ruffles they way I want...so I haven't decided if I should sell them or not...but they are a take off on this little pant I started selling...I just love fabric and the more different colors I can pair together the more I love it!

This is the new combo I did...Aspen has a similar pair but in green with more flowers on it...very fun and when she is wearing them I get orders for them like crazy!

Such a cute thing to pair up with these crown and cherub tanks I love...and here is miss Aspen's new love...her new Bical shoes...

Kind of reminds me of the Wizard of Oz...

a little why...

So on Thursday, I heard this flutter around my shop...I had no idea what it was...in fact I was thinking something was going on with a light....and then all of the sudden I spotted her! This fabulous butterfly...and my front windows of my shop get so hot...I was so worried to lose her! I told my mama....and she told me, "Oh that is Madamoiselle..." our poor little long hair chihuahua we lost in the fall to a coyote. Then she said she has this brilliant Monarch butterfly that rarely leaves her yard and that is who she thinks she is...she said just let this one be...she will find her way....

The next morning, there she still was fluttering in the window and in the shop....Aspen ran around her, then I caught her....and opened the door to show her the way before the sun warmed that window too much for her! Now, Aspen calls butterflies whys....how funny, eh....it has been going on for months everytime we see one in a book or in the garden! These pics do nothing for her...she was such a pretty burgundy...like a pretty velvet burgundy! I think she found her way in because I have all these glittery butterflies on a bird cage in the window and they invited her...please come in and play!

Aspen's doll house...

In a tiny world where everything is immaculate and perfect, there is a little darling...with a most darling glass doll house filled with the most precious things any little girl big or small could hope to have...here is a little glimpse into Aspen's doll house at my mom's house...I covet this thing like you wouldn't believe...more peeks later girls!

Can you even stand the fab silk ribbon blankie this baby owns?

summer days....

I haven't forgotten about you all I promise! Tourists in my boutique are keeping me busy running around this time of year....and then there are the piles of fabric all over my house and shop that are turning into some great little outfits! My chair is under construction...and the garden is a mess...but stay tuned!

a fresh take on a french chair...

Oh I am just so excited! I just got in some new fabrics for my beloved shop chair...this poor chair...I bought it nine years ago when I opened my boutique, and it has gone thru some weathering...so when I was moving my shop to a larger space I bought all these fab silk tafetta fabrics to recover my chairs in and make dressing room curtains...and then...I had my baby. Thankfully I didn't recover the chairs! She loves to wipe her milk all over my chairs...plus...let me see...I think people have spilled coffee on my chairs monthly!

So, thank God for Anna Maria Horner and some beautiful new fabric for my chair! So I am going to recover this baby in several patterns--like she did at the quilt show where she debuted the collection but in another variation. I figure if I mix these well enough I can disguise when my baby and all my coffee drinkers spill!

Now, I am just trying to figure which coloration I like the most...hhmmm....

one sweet little baby...

Just picked up this sweet baby this weekend at a sale because I wanted the little one they were selling with her. She is for sale now on ebay if you love her! Her dress is so beautiful I had to pick her up, though I am not very knowledgable about dolls!

Hhmm...she does look good amongst the pillows though!
